Me, wearing the Nomai Mask on my face in front of a white curtain.

Following a YouTube tutorial on how to build a life-sized Nomai mask, I spent a few weeks on and off creating my own piece of Nomai headwear. This was my first real crafts project outside of school or other activities, and for that it went really well!

The base material is a hard foam which you can cut precisely, glue really well and use a heat gun to shape as you need it. I got the material in two different thicknesses, and used them for different parts. I also used an airbrush for the first time in this project, and painted the finished mask with more than three layers of various paint.

I must admit, it's not the most practical to wear, but It looks so cool when worn. I think for this post description, I will simply upload all the progress images I took while making the mask below instead of blabbering endlessly about all the details. You can check out the original tutorial for more details, which was very easy to follow. All you need to know is that I still have it hanging on my wall and I enjoy looking at it every day!
